TOP 10 DIGITAL CAMERAS FOR ADJUSTERS

One of the most important tools that adjusters must carry with them to every claim is their digital camera. I have watched some rookie adjusters run out and by a top of the line professional camera.

Is spending several thousand dollars the sensible choice?

Sure, you will get fantastic pictures but I can see the tears and stress when you are in the midst of a tragedy of nature and you drop that camera. Or something that is often happening in these areas is theft and you could find that camera being carried off by a thief.

There are many less expensive digital cameras that take great pictures. They are also smaller and easy to carry. You want a camera that has a good warranty. Keep in mind that the more megapixels a camera has, sending the photos will take longer.

I always suggest that you keep extra batteries on hand at all time and always keep a cheap backup digital camera for those “just-in-case” moments.

In this post, I am going to share the top 10 digital cameras for adjusters. I will also share the average prices of these cameras so you can have a good idea how much you will need to invest.

10: Panasonic Lumix LX10

The Lumix takes great pictures but at 20 megapixels, it can be a little much in mailing the pictures. But some adjusters just love this lightweight camera. What's more, it has WiFi. You can find this camera in a bundle with multiple other accessories on Amazon for just under $650.

9: Pentax K-70

This is another camera that I personally feel is a little too much for adjusters, but some just love it. One of the top selling points of the Pentax K-70 is the high quality low light pictures it takes. It is a 24 megapixel camera but has WiFi which allows you to send the images directly after shooting them. You can find these for under $900.

8: Sony Alpha A100K

I don't believe Sony is manufacturing these cameras anymore, but you can find used and refurbished ones for under $300. Known to take great wide pictures, they are slightly heavy at 3 pounds, but many adjusters just love these 10 megapixel cameras.

7: Fujifilm Finepix E510

I don't believe these cameras are made anymore either, but you can get used and refurbished for under $50. They are only 5 megapixels which makes sending the images quick and easy. I suggest one of these cameras as a back up camera. They are light and easy to handle.

6: Kodak Easyshare C813

There are some insurance companies that issue these cameras to their adjusters. Personally, I believe it is a perfect “back up” camera. They are an 8.2 megapixel which is perfectly fine for the photos needed in claims adjusting. You can get these inexpensive cameras for under $50.

5: Canon Rebel XTi

This is an excellent camera at just over 1 pound. They are 10 megapixels and Canon developed this to take amazing images that fit the needs of adjusters. The XTi is an older version as Canon has developed newer ones, but you can pick one of these up for under $200.

4: Kodak PixPro FZ53

This camera takes wonderful wide photos. It is a 16 megapixel camera that is lightweight and can be purchased for under $100. I know several adjusters who just love the Kodak PixPro.

3: Canon Powershot SX730

Many adjusters are completely sold on the Canon Powershot cameras. This one is 20 megapixels and is medium weight. The zoom allows you to take pictures from near or far with great clarity. These cameras are selling on Amazon for $399.

2: Nikon Coolpix S7000

At just under $100, this 16 megapixel digital camera was quite close to getting the top position. Many top adjusters use this camera and have been extremely satisfied with its performance. It is under 1 pound and from what I understand, the WiFi capabilities work wonderfully. This is a camera you should consider.

1: Canon Powershot ELPH 360

This ELPH by Canon takes first place with the amazing reviews from adjusters. It weighs just over 1 pound and the wide angle photos are the biggest selling point. I also understand that batteries last longer in this camera in comparison to many others. At just over $200, you just may want to consider this Canon Powershot ELPH 360.

Conclusion

I hope this post gives you some good ideas on the camera you will use. If you have any cameras that you love and are not on this list, feel free to tell us why you like it so much.
